Dr Raj Kumar Bunga

Dr. Raj Kumar B is a senior consultant radiologist and head of the department with extensive clinical experience spanning over 17 years. He completed his MBBS graduation and MD radiology post-graduation from Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad which is one of the premier medical colleges in India. He previously worked in top hospitals/diagnostic centers of Hyderabad such as CARE Hospitals – Banjara Hills, Focus and Vijaya Diagnostic centers and is a well-known expert in all aspects of radiology. He is proficient in advanced neuroimaging, vascular imaging (Cardiac CT and MRI, Doppler studies), breast imaging (Mammography), Musculoskeletal ultrasound. His special interest lies in Onco-Imaging (Cancer) and is an expert in reading PET-CT studies. He is adept in diagnostic and therapeutic image-guided procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, arthrograms, joint aspirations, CT guided lung biopsies, USG guided liver & renal biopsies, TRUS guided prostate biopsy.

His academic accomplishments include investigation of the role of Transvaginal Sonography in the Evaluation of Pelvic Pathology’. His present research activity is on the ‘Role of Radiological Imaging in Bomb Blast Injuries’ so as to establish protocols to initiate a faster response and triage of injured patients. He is a guide to post-graduate students and is actively involved in teaching DNB residents. He is often seen having interactive case discussions with them and he is well appreciated by the budding radiologists. He was awarded first prize in Radiology Quiz at the 65th Annual Congress of IRIA National Conference, Hyderabad.
