Dr Arun Kanala, M.S, MCh practices surgery with an emphasis on thoracic surgery. He obtained MBBS qualifications from Kakatiya Medical College Warangal. He completed MS & MCH CTVS specialty training at Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad. He then practiced as an Associate Professor at Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad.

Subsequently, he undertook a 2-year fellowship in Thoracic Surgical Oncology from the prestigious Harvard Medical School, Boston USA. While at Harvard, Dr Arun trained under the guidance of some of the world’s most eminent thoracic surgeons of the world, including past American Thoracic Surgery Association president Dr David Sugarbaker, Dr Raphael Bueno, and Dr Scott Swanson from Brigham Hospital, Boston.

He then moved to the Middle East ( Dubai, Saudi, Bahrain) and worked there for almost 5 years as lead consultant in Thoracic Surgery and recently came back to India about a month ago. His expertise includes Uniportal VATS / open Lobectomies, pneumonectomy, pleural biopsies, Lung biopsy, Cervical Mediastinoscopy, vats pericardial windows, diaphragm surgeries, mediastinal tumors, chest trauma cases, esophageal surgeries, rib cage surgeries, Pectus surgery, TB Surgeries, Tracheal resection & anastomosis, mesothelioma surgeries, THYMECTOMY etc. He has performed more than 2000 thoracic surgeries to date for the past 20 years with excellent results.
