He has done his MBBS from SV Medical College, Tirupati. Trained in Surgery in Madras Medical College and at Cardiff, Stevenage & Royal London Hospital, London. Spent some time in Mayo Clinic in 1998 and polished Bariatric work in Amsterdam. Dr. Mannur has served as a Consultant Surgeon at the Royal London Hospital for three decades. A true pioneer in minimally invasive surgery, he was the first surgeon to introduce laparoscopic surgery in England in 1990 at the Royal London Hospital, performing advanced procedures from oesophagectomy to colectomy. Dr. Mannur has served as Professor of Surgery at Tbilisi Medical University, Georgia, and as Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery at Deccan Medical College, Hyderabad (1995). He also founded the Department of Surgery at Mediciti Hospital in 1996 before returning to London the following year.
In 1998, he achieved another landmark by performing the UK’s first laparoscopic bariatric surgery, establishing himself as a trailblazer in the field.
Dr. Mannur went on to establish one of the most reputed bariatric surgical centers in the world at Homerton Hospital, London, which became a benchmark for excellence in bariatric care. He has organized six international bariatric surgery symposiums in collaboration with leading global experts and has trained numerous laparoscopic and bariatric surgeons across the UK and India.
