Dr Babeesh Chacko

Dr. Babeesh Chacko is a highly skilled and experienced Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) Specialist in Hyderabad, currently serving as a Consultant at Continental Hospitals. With over a decade of dedicated experience in rehabilitation medicine, he specializes in Neurorehabilitation, Stroke Recovery, Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation, Pediatric Rehabilitation, Spasticity Management, and Interventional Pain Management.

Dr. Babeesh completed his MBBS from Era’s Lucknow Medical College (2006–2012) and pursued his MD in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation from Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore (2015–2018), one of India’s most prestigious medical institutions. During his training and subsequent academic career at CMC Vellore, he gained extensive hands-on experience in managing complex neurological and musculoskeletal disabilities.

He has treated patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, amputations, hemophilia-related disabilities, rheumatoid arthritis, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. His expertise includes advanced procedures such as Botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for spasticity management, ultrasound-guided joint and nerve injections, urodynamic studies, pressure sore management, and comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation planning.

Dr. Babeesh played a pivotal role in establishing and leading the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Dr. Moopen’s Medical College (Aster Wayanad), where he developed integrated rehabilitation services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and swallowing therapy, and prosthetics & orthotics labs. He directed structured rehabilitation programs for stroke survivors, spinal cord injury patients, traumatic brain injury cases, pediatric developmental delays, and diabetic foot complications.

He also gained international exposure while serving as a Specialty Doctor at the National Rehabilitation Centre, NHS Nottingham (UK), managing neuro-rehabilitation clinics, spasticity clinics, and multidisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation services in a 70-bedded advanced rehabilitation facility.
